How I work
We start with curiosity and honesty. What does the behavior do for you? What does it cost? What feelings, memories, or body states does it help you avoid? Abstinence is welcome. Harm reduction is welcome. Uncertainty is welcome. Shame is not the treatment plan.
I draw from addiction treatment experience, relational trauma work, motivational interviewing, parts work, skills-based approaches, and EMDR when trauma is part of the pattern. I am trained in EMDR and use it carefully, after stabilization, not as a shortcut around safety.
