What this looks like ## What this _looks like._ Addiction and recovery work here includes substances and the behavioral patterns that function the same way. Alcohol that started as a way to relax and now shapes the evening. A prescription, edible, or stimulant pattern you keep explaining away as functional. Overworking, scrolling, food, sex, or gambling that gives short relief and long shame. A recovery period that looked stable until stress exposed what was still underneath. A family system where everyone is monitoring everyone and nobody is calm. ## How I work We start with curiosity and honesty. What does the behavior do for you? What does it cost? What feelings, memories, or body states does it help you avoid? Abstinence is welcome. Harm reduction is welcome. Uncertainty is welcome. Shame is not the treatment plan. I draw from addiction treatment experience, relational trauma work, motivational interviewing, parts work, skills-based approaches, and EMDR when trauma is part of the pattern. I am trained in EMDR and use it carefully, after stabilization, not as a shortcut around safety. Honest geography There is no Murrieta office.
